A Statement from the Board of Directors

On Sunday, June 13, the Weathervane family was heartbroken to learn of the death of Matthew Trombetta, Managing Artistic Director, in a car collision early that morning.

This loss is beyond measure in our hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and with the countless friends, colleagues, and community members who also are grieving in memory of Matthew. His love of Licking County and its citizenry has become legendary. And his dedication to helping others, especially through enriching the lives and talents of young artists, will have an impact on generations to come.

Matthew's talent, his creative spirit, his drive for excellence, and his spectacular good cheer are evident in every aspect of this theatre. He has been a driving force behind not only Weathervane's extraordinary productions every season, but also the fruition this year of the theatre's newly renovated facilities.

We will work to support Weathervane's miraculous cast and crew, who have dedicated themselves -- in his memory -- to making this season just as outstanding as Matthew knew it would be.
