Weathervane Playhouse Seeks Actors for 45th Summer Season

Weathervane Playhouse is holding Regional Auditions Friday February 22, 2013 1:00PM-6:00PM, Saturday February 23, 1:00PM – 4:00 PM, and Sunday February 24, 12:00PM – 4:00 PM for its 45th Summer Season. They are seeking actors of all ages, character types, and with various special skills for roles in “Guys and Dolls”, “Around the World in 80 Days”, “Oliver”, “Moon Over Buffalo”, and “Monty Python’s Spamalot”. Auditions will be held at Weathervane Playhouse, 100 Price Rd. Newark, Ohio. Congratulations to Molly Coyne and Philip Black! They were selected for Best Acting awards by the Central Ohio Theatre Roundtable for their roles in the Weathervane Playhouse 2011 production of Chicago. Molly's performance as  Roxie Hart and Philip's as Billy Flynn earned them the awards. Philip was also nominated for his performance as Orin Scrivello, aka: the dentist, in Little Shop of Horrors. Dennis Kohler was also nominated for his performance as Amos Hart in Chicago. The Roundtable presented their awards on January 29, 2012 during their Annual Awards Night: Recognizing Outstanding Work in 2011.

Weathervane Playhouse is proud to announce the selection of Adam Karsten as our new Managing Artistic Director. Adam is an accomplished actor and director who currently lives in New York but originally hails from Pittsburgh, PA. He is excited to join the Weathervane family, and is looking forward to creating some "Summer Magic" during the upcoming 2012 Summer Season!

Weathervane is excited to introduce Denise Duellman-LaCara as our new Theatre Education Director! Denise will lead our popular WYART Program, including the Productions and Workshops. Her extensive experience in children's theatre is a valuable addition to the Weathervane staff.
