Meet our new Managing Artistic Director!
Weathervane Playhouse is excited to introduce Adam Karsten as our new Managing Artistic Director!
Adam is proud to become a member of the Weathervane Playhouse family.
Adam began his career in theatre as an actor playing roles such as Chris in Cameron Mackintosh’s Miss Saigon and finished playing opposite Hugh Jackman in the Broadway workshop of The Boy From Oz. His direction of musicals includes US and European Tours, and regional productions of: The James Bond Show, Cabaret, The Who’s Tommy, The Pajama Game, Urinetown, and Carousel; and the original new work The Trouble With Doug at the renowned Goodspeed Musicals. His direction of plays includes: Wrestling The Alligator (nominated Best Direction at Planet Connections Festival in NYC); Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing (Fordham University); and numerous new works such as Timor Mortis (Studio Theatre 54, NYC); War Crimes (Moss Theatre, NYC) and Third Seat (BoCoCa Theatre Festival, NY) as the artistic director and co-founder of Conflict of Interest Theatre Company in New York. His new children’s musical, The Quiet Clock, debuted in NYC with an all Broadway cast in 2011. Adam is the artistic director for the film and stage production company, A2K Productions, LLC, where he has directed several award winning films and documentaries including, Miss Swiss (Gloria Film Festival); Shy of Serenity (Reel Time Film Festival); and Ed. L. (New York International Film Festival). His direction of the feature film Other Than Emily received an east coast screening in 2009.
Adam has a BFA from Carnegie Mellon, an M.A. from S.U.N.Y., and is a graduate of the Lincoln Center’s Directors Lab.
