Ohio premiere of “Hairspray” presented by Weathervane Playhouse and Sir Speedy Printing
Weathervane Playhouse and Sir Speedy Printing are proud to present the Ohio premiere of the Tony award winning musical “Hairspray” in which Baltimore's Tracy Turnblad is a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart. She has only one passion -- to dance. She wins a spot on the The Corny Collins Show and is transformed from outsider to irrepressible teen celebrity. But can a plus-size trendsetter in dance and fashion vanquish the program's reigning princess, win the heart of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show all without denting her 'do?
Kirsten Paisley, a Granville High School Graduate, is Tracy Turnblad and performs her first starring role on the Weathervane stage after years of performing. Local legend Dennis Kohler takes on the iconic role of Edna Turnblad in this, his 92nd show at Weathervane. 2010 Season favorites Kara Dombrowski, Greg Kennedy and Chasdan Mike make up just a few of the hilarious and talented supporting cast.
Following her successes with “My Fair Lady” and “The Producers” Erika Twining, with the Co-Direction of Brice Corder, directs and choreographs this energetic and uplifting musical.
